I’m at my best when photographing in a zone, crouching, crawling or climbing to get the best shot. An hour of shooting can mean many more hours at my computer, bringing out the color of the sky or converting a scene to black and white to enhance and isolate the emotional impact. Don’t ask me to pick a favorite style, because it will probably change by tomorrow!
My photography reminds us that outside the frame of every beautiful sunset or bird in flight, there is litter on the ground below. For every marvel of architecture, a dilapidated building nearby represents an unhoused family or unsupported business. Don’t get me wrong. I love the natural world around me and the advancements of urban life. You just better know that we can’t have beauty without ugliness.
